Picks of the People.
It’s what Pix Populi means. It’s what we promise to deliver here.
This is a fun game that began at an amazing newspaper in Bluffton, S.C. in the mid-2000s.
I came up with an interesting twin on the stale football picks contest. Pick the winner, pick the winning margin, and get points for how close you are — and lose points for how much you blow it.
The game thrived for a few years until the newspaper went from a daily to a bi-weekly. But even when dormant, I continued to hear from fans that it was one of the most unique contests they had ever been involved in.
So we finally brought back the game, armed with new tech that makes tabulating scores all the more easier.
And we’ve expanded way beyond the South Carolina Lowcountry. Now, we’re taking the results of the game each week — who picked who — and comparing the Pix Populi against the picks of the Vegas pros. You can find our weekly column on Forbes.
And you can join the game anytime. There’s weekly winners and the weekly winners get an automatic bid into our end-of-the-year contest.
